Rainee Mills Perdue was born on October 26, 1973 and was raised in the tiny town of Lakeview, Oregon. Though totally blind from birth, she went to public school from kindergarten until graduation in 1992. She then spent some time in Newberg, OR, and then moved on to Portland in the spring of '93, where she got her Associates degree from Portland Comunity College. Rainee married Ryan Perdue on March 30, 2002. Durring these years, she volunteered at various places throughout the Portland metro and continuously worked on her music. career: Rainee has sung in churches, coffeehouses, schools, bars, and even cat shelters. She loves to use her talents to bless others. From 2000 to 2005 she actively led worship at the Downtown House of Prayer in Portland, Oregon. One of her favorite parts of her career has been the work she's done with Songs of Love, and organization that brings the gift of music to kids who are either terminally or chronically ill. In December of 2005, She and her husband moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, to be closer to family. On june 17th of the following year, Rainee became Triad Idol of 2006. In the summer of 2008, she wrote and performed the song, "From the Inside Out," for the film, "Walls That Bleed," a historical documentary about the Dudley-A&T uprising in Greensboro in 1969. Presently, Rainee continues to perform wherever and whenever an opportunity strikes. Her wide range of musical influences show in the songs she writes and records. She sings, writes, plays guitar, piano, and a bit of penny whistle. Rainee has recorded two CD's: "Higher Heights," 2000, and "Breaking Out," 2006. When she's not singing or writing, she is either, beading, doing wirework, or spending time with the people that she loves.
